FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

Is this one booking or two?

Two. A Bonus City trip is two separate tickets — that’s exactly why it’s often cheaper than the direct flight. You’ll book each leg on the airline (via Google Flights links we give you), or we book both for you.

What if my first flight is delayed and I miss the second?

With separate tickets, the second airline owes you nothing — this is the trade-off, and we’d rather say it plainly. It’s also why BonusCity only shows connections measured in days, not tight same-day dashes. If we booked for you, we’ll help you find and rebook the cheapest recovery option.

Why is flying via another city sometimes cheaper?

Airlines price each route by its own supply and demand, and budget carriers fly cheap point-to-point routes that never appear in one-ticket searches. Splitting the journey unlocks prices the airlines never combine themselves.

What about my bags?

You collect your bags at the stopover — you’re going into the city anyway. Check them in fresh for leg two. Pack carry-on if you want to be quickest.

Do I need a visa for the stopover city?

You’re properly entering that country, so normal entry rules apply — same as booking a holiday there. Check requirements for your passport before booking.

What does BonusCity cost?

Searching is free and fares are never marked up. If you use “Book it for me”, we charge a flat £19 service fee and confirm final fares with you before anything is booked. That fee is our entire business model.

How does the AI search box work?

You describe your trip in plain words; our AI (Claude) turns it into a structured search — cities, dates, stopover length — and runs it. Your text is used only to build the search.

Can I cancel or change after booking?

Each ticket follows its airline’s own fare rules — most budget fares are non-refundable but changeable for a fee. Since bookings are with the airlines, changes happen there (or we’ll assist if we booked for you).
